So it's been a little while since I last posted. A lot has gone on, yet January seemed to last forever. After a nice, relaxing trip to our home state for Christmas, we came home to the cold Pennsylvania winter and pretty much hibernated the whole month. So when we decided on a weekend getaway with some friends to the Pocono Mountains, it helped us get out of our hibernation and look forward to getting some fresh winter air.
I really enjoy the packing part of weekend getaways and love putting together outfits for the mountains. I got to pull out my new winter boots and of course my favorite watch that I pretty much stole from my husband.
We stayed at a quaint little bed and breakfast with our friends, Brandon and Jenna, who had been there a couple years ago and loved it. They drove in from New York City and it was only about two hours for the both of us. (I love the northeast) We were blown away with our room and the accommodations, especially our private hot tub on our private deck. (Can we live here?)
After a delicious breakfast on Saturday, we headed out for a day of tubing at Camelback Mountain Resort which was a first for both Chris and I. We all had a blast and I am now spoiled from the 'magic carpet' that pulls you up the hill so you don't have to exert an ounce of energy.
After saying goodbye to our friends and our dream bedroom on Sunday, Chris and I spent the afternoon on the slopes back at Camelback Mountain. The snow was great but let's just say skiing in the northeast makes me feel like I'm really good. It probably took more time to wait in line for the lift than it did getting down the mountain. But we still had a great time, and we have a whole bucket list of ski resorts in the northeast that we want to check off our list. One down, about 60 more to go.
We absolutely loved our weekend in the Poconos with friends and look forward to many more mountain getaways… Next stop, Vermont??
