After an amazing week in West Virginia visiting my mom, stepdad and family (here if you missed it), I headed back home to Pennsylvania, repacked my bags, then hopped back in the car with Chris, for a spontaneous trip to the Adirondack's before heading to New York City for a concert. Chris wanted to capture the brilliance of fall in the Adirondack Mountains and it ended up being the best unplanned trip I have ever taken.
Our first stop was a seaplane ride, completely spontaneous and completely incredible.
Our next stop was Raquette Lake, a beautiful place where I spent many summer vacations on a small island just beyond the General Store. Everything was just as I remembered and I had such nostalgia walking around and visiting the store where we would canoe up for some ice-cream and candy.
After reminiscing at Raquette Lake, we headed to Long Lake for lunch at the Adirondack Hotel, but not with out stops to take pictures of the beautiful scenes along the way.
After lunch we went to the Adirondack Museum which houses history of transportation in the Adirondacks, early settlers and lots of giant chairs.
We ended the day driving around snapping pictures of the sunset and realizing how amazing this place is that God painted so beautifully. Life is a blank canvas and the world is full of color. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to experience fall in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
